Project Alopecia is a Czechoslovak documentary project about people with alopecia, otherness and similarities. Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes some or all of the hair to fall out and the hair on a person’s body. However, the authors of the project do not primarily look at alopecia as a disease, but a social phenomenon, and consider it in a broader context of topics such as otherness, beauty or transformation.
